Imprisoned Iranian journalist Ahmad Zeidabadi is the laureate of this year’s UNESCO Guillermo Cano World Press Freedom Prize, according to the organisation on Thursday.
The European Students’ Union (ESU) expresses its solidarity with the imprisoned Iranian students’ union leader Bahareh Hedayat, who celebrates her 30th birthday today, 5 April, in jail and calls upon the European Commission and UNESCO to increase pressure on Iran to release Hedayat.
A local source in the city of Babol told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that the Revolutionary Court in Babol issued sentences totaling 110 months in prison for ten individuals previously active in Mir Hossein Mousavi’s election campaign.
