The families of political prisoners in Evin prison currently on hunger strike have gathered outside the notorious prison to protest the authorities’ refusal to allow for prison visits to take place.
Civil activist Hengameh Solouki has been sentenced to two and a half years in prison. She was arrested on 27 December during the Ashura protests which were quickly turned violent by Iran’s security forces.
In an exclusive interview with Rooz, the families of political prisoners held at Evin Prison’s ward 350, demanded a meeting between Tehran’s prosecutor general and their loved ones behind bars: “Tehran’s prosecutor general must hear prisoners’ demands and work to resolve the crisis.”
