Green slogans on walls, phone booths, banknotes ahead of 25 Bahman

As Iran braces itself for the upcoming parliamentary elections, citizens appear to be using public spaces to raise awareness about the first anniversary of the 25 Bahman (14 February) protests.

A growing number of walls, phone booths, classrooms, libraries and even Basij bases are being peppered with graffiti these days. The signs, most often in green, promote the anniversary of the 25 Bahman opposition protests, call for the release of Green Movement leaders and question the validity of the forthcoming Majlis vote.

Green Movement supporters have also begun using banknotes to spread their message to fellow Iranians.
