Amidst regime's campaign of lies

GVF — According to opposition website Jaras, Hamed Nour-Mohammadi is the latest victim of state-brutality who was killed by security forces during Sunday’s pro-opposition protests in the historic city of Shiraz.

Originally from the Western Iranian city of Khorram-Abad, Nour-Mohammadi was a student at the University of Shiraz. Eyewitnesses say that he was killed after he was thrown off the city’s Namazi Bridge.

The semi-official Fars News Agency claimed on Monday that according to the president of Shiraz University Mr Moazeni, he was killed following a normal car accident!

Jaras says that “following to psychological pressure and threats by security forces, on Monday his family went to Shiraz University’s Dastgheib dormitory and collected his personal belongings.”

In addition, Jaras reports that in the same hospital where Nour-Mohammadi’s death was confirmed, the death of an elderly woman hit with batons was also confirmed by medical experts at the hospital.

During opposition demonstrations in Tehran on Sunday, eyewitnesses also reported that one person was killed by security forces in Tehran's Hafte Tir Square. An hour later state media denied the report while at the same time the official website of Iran's police reported that one person had died after committing suicide in Tehran’s metro.
