Son of conservative cleric exposes
GVF -- The son of a senior conservative cleric has warned the head of the Iranian judiciary about reports that notorious Kahrizak detention centre has recommenced its activities under another name.
The son of hard-line cleric Ayatollah Khazali, Mahdi Khazali has written a letter to the head of the Iranian judiciary Sadegh Larijani in which he has reported that the previously shut down Kahrizak detention centre has been reopened under a new name Soroush 111.
The letter has been published on the official website of Dr Khazali. He has called on authorities to investigate the allegation while reminding the head of the judiciary about the prison's closure in the summer of 2009 following an order by the Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In the letter, Khazali states that while the crimes committed at Kahrizak prison have yet to be investigated, the Iranian judiciary was issuing death sentences with great ease for a simple stone throwing.
