GVF -- Despite the bail payment for the release of Amir Khosro Dalirsani, prison officials are preventing his release and have postponed it to the following days.
A bail amount of 80,000 US dollars had been set for the release of the political activist, yet its payment has not secured his freedom. Dalirsani had been arrested a week after the bloody protests of Ashura (27 December) at his home in Tehran. No sentence has been issued for him until now.
Upon hearing news that Dalirsani would be released on bail, his family had appeared in front of Evin prison to greet him; however prison officials prevented him from being freed.
Despite the temporary release of a number of political prisoners in recent days, other journalist and human rights activists have been put in jail.
