GVF -- A senior member of the Office for Fostering Unity has been released from prison on a bail of around 200,000 dollars.
Mehdi Arabshahi was arrested on 27 December and had been held in a security ward at Evin Prison. At the time of his arrest, Arabshahi had been in Laleh Park and had been under a great deal of pressure to confess. He had been transferred to the hospital several times and according to his family had developed heart problems due to the harsh conditions in prison.
It is noteworthy that Milad Asadi and Bahareh Hedayat are two other members of the central council of the Office for Fostering Unity who are still in Evin prison.
