GVF -- Former president Mohammad Khatami has met with freed journalist Badrossadat Mofidi at her home.
According to Parlemannews, during the meeting Khatami welcomed her release, and expressed hope that other political prisoners would also be set free. Mofidi in turn, provided Khatami with information regarding her time in prison.
Mofidi is a journalist as well as the secretary of the banned Iranian Journalists Association. She was arrested with her husband Masoud Aghaei on 29 December at their home.
Her husband was released after two months but Mofidi was held in prison and under harsh conditions for 160 days before being released. She spent more than forty days in solitary confinement while in prison. She was recently released on a bail of more than $100,000.
