GVF -- Journalist and human rights activist Narges Mohammadi was hospitalised on 3 July after a deterioration of her health following her release from the notorious Evin prison.
Mohammad was released from Evin prison on 1 July after a worsening of her health condition due to harsh prison conditions. The women’s rights activist had been suffering from various health complications since her release and was unable to even perform the simplest every day activities such as speech, according to the Feminist School website.
Narges Mohammadi’s husband Taghi Rahmani has said that this form of paralysis began after his wife’s imprisonment and has continued since. Despite having carried out many medical tests, doctors are still unable to uncover the reason behind her paralysis.
Mohammadi is a member of the Defenders of Human Rights Centre and recipient of the international Alexander Langer award 2009. She was arrested on 11 June after many subpoenas.
