'No student imprisoned for political activity'

GVF -- Iran’s Minister for Science, Research and Technology has stated that the free political atmosphere in Iran cannot be found anywhere else in world.

Speaking to the semi-official Mehr news, Kamran Daneshjou claimed that “no student has been prevented from studying for the sole reason of carrying out political activity.”

“Freedom in the framework of the law an in line with national interests and the interests of the Islamic system is not curbed in any part of the country, especially in universities,” Daneshjou claimed. “It does not even enter the student’s track record.”

“A student’s freedom does not mean insulting the sacred and creating anarchy.”

He added that “political freedom manifesting in anarchy and overthrow are not considered as criticism and it is only a Western version [given] to Iranian youth.” “Moving on the path of the enemy is not criticism by any means.”

“No student has been prevented from studying for the sole reason carrying out political activity,” he claimed. The minister, whose own academic record contains a great of plagiarism and fraud, said that “in handling the students’ faults, as far as the Ministry of Science is concerned, they are treated with mercifully.”
