GVF -- Iran’s chief police, Brigadier General Ahmadi Moghaddam has said that the infiltration of the “enemy” into Tehran must be prevented so that “security cracks” do not occur again like 27 December.
Ahmadi Moghaddam was speaking yesterday at the farewell ceremony of the head of Tehran police and said that the 11 February rallies were the result of “the day and night efforts of police, Basij and security forces.”
During the ceremony, the former head of Tehran’s police Azizollah Rajabzadeh claimed that one of the positive points of the police's performance was that on 15 June, the number of gatherings in Iran was reduced to eleven. He also stated that after from 16 June, the full force of the police was operating under the control of IRGC.
Referring to the post-election suppressions, Rajabzadeh also made the bald claim that the Tehran police “did not even kill a single person, and did not lose a single person and confronted the issue with the least amount of individual and financial losses.”
Despite Rajabzadeh's claims, it is certain now that number of protesters killed by police or other security forces after the 12 June election is much higher. There are still not precise figures on the death toll.
According to Iran’s Labour news agency ILNA, Rajabzadeh will be appointed as the head of Tehran’s crisis management body.
