Prosecutor general's bizarre claim:

'Ali Karrobi was never arrested'

Prosecutor general's bizarre claim:

The prosecutor general of Tehran has told Iran’s Labour News Agency that Ali Karroubi, son of Mahdi Karroubi had never been arrested and that most of the detainees of 11 February have been set free.

Referring to the arrest of Mahdi Karroub, Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi told ILNA that “if he claims to have been arrested, he has give proof and announce the place of his detention.”

“I was informed through certain media in the afternoon of 11 February that Mr Karroubi’s son had been arrested. I quickly investigated the matter,” he said. The prosecutor added that “after making an inquiry into the matter through the police, Revolutionary Guard and the intelligence ministry, we learned that such a person had never been arrested.”

Mr Jafari Dolatabadi also stated that “due to the glorious victory of the people during the 11 February rallies, most of those detained by the police have been released.”

Despite the prosecutor’s bizarre claims, Saham News released images of Ali Karroubi’s wounds as a result of torture by security force and the Karroubi family have confirmed their son’s short but brutal detention.
