Bail set for writer

The family of Ardavan Tarakmeh have said that a bail of more than 30,000 US dollars has been set for the writer and cinema critic. His sister Bahar Tarakmeh is still in prison.

The pro-Green Movement website Kaleme said that Ardavan who is the son of reputed writer and literary critic Younes Tarakmeh was arrested along with Mahin Fahimi on the night of 27 December.

Ardavan’s sister, Bahar was arrested on 4 February and is being held in Evin prison. She had been one of the signatories of a letter written to the head of judiciary by seventy writers, poets, interpreters and journalists demanding the releasing of her brother Ardavan.
