Mousavi advisor and economics professor, Ali Arab Mazar has not been able to meet with a lawyer, fifty days after being arrested.
Mousavi’s official website Kaleme has reported that the university professor does not have the slightest clue as to the possible reasons for his arrest. This is despite the fact that according to the law, the detention of any individual for more than 24 hours with notifying them of the charges against them is illegal. In addition to, Arab Mazar’s lack of access to legal representation is also a basic breach of the law.
Arab Mazar’s was able to speak to his father, wife and young daughter only seventeen days after arrest. His health has been deteriorating, especially due to the fact that he suffers from a heart condition and backache.
