Journalist gets three-year prison sentence

According to an Iranian website dedicated to the release of imprisoned journalists, Alireza Saghafi has been sentenced to three years in prison.

Saghafi is a journalist and editor-in-chief of the monthly Rahe Ayande and a labour and civil activist. He was arrested prior to the rigged elections of June 2009 and was set free on bail. He was arrested again last week and taken to Evin prison.

His son Alireza has been sentenced to two years in prison.
