$1 million dollar bail set for political prisoner

After 216 days of spending time in prison and the two-time postponement of his trial, Feizollah Arab Sorkhi’s trial took place under Judge Salavati on Sunday morning. 
According to the Iranian website Norooz, the court was able to hear a portion of Mr Arab Sorkhi’s defence; however the remainder of the proceedings was postponed until the end of next week.
Arab Sorkhi is a senior member of the reformist party the Mujahidin of the Islamic Revolution Organisation and was arrested after the results of the rigged presidential elections of June 2009 were announced. 
The amount set for Arab Sorkhi’s release was set at more than $1 million US dollars, which caused his lawyer Seyed Jalal Mousavi made a request for a more reasonable bail. 
Mr Arab Sorkhi’s family have been able to meet with this political activist and claim that he was in good spirit.
