Senior reformist Tajzadeh on trial tomorrow

Another show trial:

The court trial of senior reformist politician and member of Islamic Iran Participation Front (Mosharekat) Mostafa Tajzadeh will take place tomorrow Monday at a revolutionary court.
Tajzadeh’s legal representative Houshang Pourbabaei stated that he and Dr Hosseinabadi were who also represents Mr Tajzadeh, were planning to meet him in Evin prison on Friday, in order to prepare for his defence on Monday.
In another show trial that was held on 13 December 2009, Mostafa Tajzadeh had been accused of disrupting public order, publicising against the Islamic system, insulting officials of the Islamic Republic and withholding confidential documents, among others. The judge for the 13 December proceedings was Judge Salavati.
Following the mass scale fraud that took place in the June 2009 presidential election, authorities arrested many journalists, politicians and activists and accused them of the most absurd crimes and acts in laughable show trials. Mr Tajzadeh was only one of the many arrested after 12 June 2009.
Mr Tajzadeh’s trial comes only days before the opposition flexes its muscles and takes to the streets on 11 February which coincides with 31st anniversary of the Islamic revolution.
