GVF -- The head of Mir Hossein Mousavi’s election campaign has been sentenced to five years in prison as well as a fine of more than $100.
A judge at branch 28 of the revolutionary court sentenced Ghorban Behzadian Nejad to five years in prison. He was informed about his unjust sentence on Tuesday. According to Kaleme, The court also sentenced Behzadian Nejad to a fine of more than $100 for having insulted Ahmadinejad, Iran’s illegitimate president whose re-election was the outcome of a monumental election fraud in June 2009.
It should be added the among the series of abnormalities surrounding Behzadian Nejad’s case was the fact that he had been “temporarily” held in prison for eight months before the mentioned ruling.
In a rare move, Behzadian Nejad was suspended of all academic activities until a final judiciary decision was issued by the court. He had been a professor at the prestigious Tarbiat Modares University (Teachers Training School) prior to his arrest. Behzadian Nejad is a distinguished expert in the field of bacteria at his university and has a PhD in Microbiology.
The senior aide to Mousavi who has known him for over 22 years, has been held in detention since last December 28, a day after the bloody protests of 27 December or otherwise known as the Ashura protests.
