GVF -- The chairman of the National Trust Party Mahdi Karroubi has welcomed the launch of the Green Movement’s new satellite channel RASA TV and expressed hope the new media would also pave the way for the spread of a more merciful interpretation of Islam.

On Thursday, Karroubi appeared on RASA TV which is now streamed live online and expressed his strong support for the new channel and those running the network.

“Those who launched this project are people from within the Islamic Republic who have left the country and some of them were my supporters who were here [in Iran] during the [2009 presidential] election and were active. I support [the channel staff] and congratulate them [for its launch] and I would advise them to proceed with caution and to work within the framework of what they claim as well as a merciful interpretation] of Islam ... I would like to congratulate [RASA TV] again and I am in favour of what is being done.”
