Grenade explodes near Ahmadinejad convoy in Hamedan province, says conservative website

GVF -- A hand grenade has exploded “next to one of the vehicles” accompanying Ahmadinejad during his provincial visit to the city of Hamedan in western Iran.

The Khabar Online website reported the news saying that the explosion occurred as Ahmadinejad was on his way to the city‘s Qods stadium. According to Khabar Online, the vehicle which was attacked this morning was a minibus carrying reporters who had been accompanying Ahmadinejad.

There is no further information about the casualties of this incident and despite the explosion, Ahmadinejad delivered his speech according to plan. The speech was broadcast live on IRINN (Islamic Republic of Iran News Network). During the speech, renewed his previous calls for a TV debate with US president Barak Obama. Yesterday, the White House rejected his calls for a debate.

Two days ago, Ahmadinejad had claimed that “stupid Zionists” had the intention to assassinate him.
