Letter to husband in solitary confinement: 'I'm on hunger strike with you'

The following letter was written by Parastoo Sarmadi to her husband Hossein Nouraninejad, a political prisoner in solitary confinement and currently on hunger strike in ward 350 of Evin prison:
 
I go on Hunger Strike to stay with you

YOU have tried all the ways, the Sparrows on the barbed wires of EVIN prison could witness

YOU have tolerated all the pressure and stress, the walls of the solitary cells of Evin could confess

YOU have looked for all the windows to bring hope; the windows on the tall walls of EVIN could say it

All the seconds you spent in the prison will confess that you haven’t abused the confidence of the people who have fought for freedom for a century.

People who cry loudly for respecting the dignity of the human being, just for the reason he is human, people who want respect beyond their gender, religion and political interest. People who should be free, although they have not accepted the election results, although they have objected the violence.

You have tried all the ways and now you are here...again in the same cell, the cell is here with you and you in it. Hunger is yet the last card to reach your very first goal, respecting the dignity of human...

Hunger is however sometimes a gift when you are numb of hunger, there is time you don’t actually know if you are dreaming or it is reality.

When you reach the point in hunger and ecstasy, look, I am there in your cell stretching my arms towards you hoping to reach your arms after a year...

I have tried all the ways like you, every place in my country can confess, I have seen all the deadlocks and I know we have a little time. I fear we don’t have enough time to be with each other, so I go on HUNGER STRIKE like you and your friends so that we may reach each other in the same point, the point that we could see the dream green land, the land in which there is respect for human being, the same GREEN land flowing in NEDA’s Eyes.
