Mourners in Mashhad pay tribute to green martyr

GVF -- A group of Green Movement supporters have paid their tribute to slain green protester Mostafa Ghanian who was the victim of the Iranian authorities’ violent crackdown following the fraudulent presidential election of June 2009.

The Green mourners, gathered near the grave of Mostafa Ghanian which is located close to one of the holiest sites in Shiite Islam, the shrine of Imam Reza. The Green Movement supporters from the city of Mashhad placed green symbols on his tombstone and remembered the fallen student.

Mostafa, was killed by a sniper shot to the head while chanting Allah-O-Akbar on the rooftop of his home in Tehran on 16 June 2009.

He was simply protesting the monumental fraud committed during the 2009 presidential election like millions of other Iranians who felt that their votes had been stolen.
